The Ivorian striker has made up his mind of leaving the Army Men, admitting that he wants to play in the UEFA Champions League next season
CSKA Moscow striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Doumbia-c33175, has decided to leave the Moscow-based club during the upcoming summer transfer window after a disappointing Russian Premier League campaign.
Doumbia insisted that he wants to play in the UEFA Champions League next season. The Armeytsy have failed to secure the Champions League berth this season after finishing 3rd in the league table.
“I really want to play in the Champions League. But it is too early to talk about something because anything can happen now. I would like to play at a higher level in Spain or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Russian Championship has ended recently and I
am very disappointed that CSKA has not qualified for the Champions League."
“If there is an interesting option, I will go for it. I am waiting for concrete proposals.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
The fact that CSKA cannot offer him European football next season disappoints Doumbia, who has admitted that he is considering leaving the Russian outfit for a bigger club in England or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
If speculations are to be believed, the 23-year-old striker could go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-CF-c40864.
Media reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 have failed to impress,
the Ivorian striker could be a solution to the growing problems at the North London club.
Doumbia, who joined the Moscow-based club from Young Boys in 2010, has had a terrific European campaign this term.
The hard-working Ivorian forward helped the Red-blues reach the pre-quarter finals of the European campaign this term, having scored five goals in seven European appearances.
Doumbia, meanwhile, has scored 28 league goals in 40 league appearances after forming a striking partnership with former team-mate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vagner-c35793 Love. But as things stand, he is set to follow the footsteps of Love, who had left Moscow
in January.
