Seydou Keita speaks after the El Clasico
Barcelona was to play their archrivals, Real Madrid, in the Spanish La Liga during the weekend.
Both the teams have played two games this season and have three more games lined up.
The prestigious “El Clasico” is going to take place five times this season and in two games Barcelona have come out on top.
The Catalan Giants have taken four points against the Los Blancos – winning one game and drawing the other.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, has taken only one.
The Spanish Champions have scored six goals in total against Real Madrid this season while the Los Blancos have scored only one.
The El Clasico that took place on Saturday and ended up in a 1-1 deadlock did not end without a few controversial decisions. The referee made a lot of poor decisions throughout the game which changed the cause of the game.
Despite the fact that some decisions were poorly handled by the match officials, the Barcelona stars were still quite happy about the fixture and liked the fact that they were still eight points above Real Madrid and with one less game to play.
Josep Guardiola sent down the best eleven players available to him. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071 injured, it was Sergio Busquets who took his original role in the holding midfield.
The surprise of the night was the club captain, Carles Puyol, who finally made it back to the first team after suffering from a left knee tendonitis for two and a half months.
The Catalan defender later had to withdraw from the game after suffering from a hamstring injury. It was just a precautionary measure taken by the Spanish Champions.
Real Madrid was a man down and Barcelona definitely thought they had an advantage over their opposition.
This was the basic reason why Carles Puyol was taken off as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique in the centre back role and the former Sevilla star, Seydou Keita, joined the team in the midfield.
It was for the first time in the Spanish La Liga this season that Seydou Keita performed his role in his favourite holding midfield position.
Keita came on for Carles Puyol and replaced Sergio Busquets in the holding midfield position as the young Spaniard joined the team’s back four.
Puyol’s absence was greatly felt http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AS-Real-c38478 Madrid was awarded with a penalty later during the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 stepped up to slot the penalty kick home.
The Portuguese captain helped Real Madrid come back on level terms with Barcelona and it was for the first time that he scored against the Catalan club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331, had something to say about the game.
The former Sevilla man was content with his team’s performance and thought his side was better than Real Madrid.
Like all other http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 stars, Seydou Keita did not answer the question regarding the poor decisions from the referee.
Keita said that it’s not easy how the referees are trying to do their job and he will not talk about them.
Keita said:
"I don’t want to talk about the referee, but it’s not easy."
However, he did talk about the game and thought that Barcelona really took control of it after finding the goal they were craving for.
He said:
"After the goal, we moved the ball about, and played really well.”
Barcelona dominated 72% possession during the game. It was surprising to see a team away from home and keeping most of the ball to itself.
The Spanish Champions took the lead with a penalty taken by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296.
However, there was a penalty that the referee did not award the Catalan side with during the first half.
Barcelona was definitely the better side throughout the game. However, Real Madrid was more direct and did not waste any time targeting the Catalan goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-c36011 Valdes.
