Shaaban Hussin wishes to have his photograph taken with Tiger Woods at the CIMB Classic
Shaaban Hussin of Malaysia expressed his wish of having his photograph taken with the legendary Tiger Woods during the CIMB Classic, scheduled from October 25 to 28, 2012.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, he revealed that he tried to follow Woods at the Westin Hotel, the tournament’s official hotel.
He stated that he wanted to have his photograph taken with the 14-time major champion. However, he failed to spot Woods in the hotel.
He now hopes to be paired with Woods during the tournament, as he believes that it is the easiest way to capture the cherishing moment.
“I waited for him yesterday at the lobby hotel but I didn’t see him. I didn’t know which door he went out from. I wanted a picture with him. The only way I can see him now is if I play well and get paired with him. Tiger is my idol and he is a legend,” said
Hussin.
The Malaysian made it to the elite field of the CIMB Classic, thanks chiefly to his second best position by a Malaysian in the Official World Golf Rankings.
He also stated that he always plays well in the first two rounds and blows out his chances on the weekends.
According to him, he feels pressure when a huge crowd follows him on the course. He said that he will try not to think about the crowd while controlling his emotions on the course.
“My game on the Asian Tour has always been very strong after two days but I always blow up during the weekend,” he said.
“I’m still not comfortable with the crowds following me. I need to control my emotions and not think about the crowd. If I can do that, then I can play well”.
He also confirmed that his wife and child will also be there in the stands when he tees off this week at the co-sanctioned event by the Asian Tour and the PGA Tour.
The Malaysian star said that the presence of his family members on the course will motivate him to display a good set of skills on the course and record a good finish in the end.
