Shades Of Grey favourite for International Plywood Limited Fillies´ Handicap
Shades Of Grey is likely to prevail in the International Plywood Limited Fillies´ Handicap at Bath in England on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will be awarded a cash prize of £2,386.
The going will be good to soft in the 1 mile, 5 furlong and 22 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 20:40 GMT. A total of nine entries have been confirmed for the event and their names are as follows: Shades Of Grey, Maydream, Shy, Aegean Destiny, Now
What, Pandorica, Lisselan Pleasure, Squirrel Wood and Valmari.
Although Shade of Grey has a poor strike rate, the bookies have awarded her with pretty decent odds. Her performances in recent times have not been much impressive, thus the punters will be discouraged to risk money in her favour.
The five-year-old mare has participated in 14 events until now, winning just one of them and finishing runner up on a couple of times. In addition to that, she also has one third place finish to her name, which shows that she has the tools to fight for top
positions.
However, the Clive Cox’s trainee was unable to deliver a solid result in her previous two races, as she dropped out of the top three in both of them. She will need to be at her absolute best in order to take the top spot at Bath today.
Shades Of Grey will be partnered by seasoned jockey, John Fahy, who has enjoyed some success at this level, but is not known to be a consistent performer. He does not have a good strike rate at all, which is not a positive sign for any rider.
On the other hand, Maydream seems to be in very god rhythm at the moment and she might walk away with a victory in the race. Her recent performances have been good, thus the bettors are likely to risk a lot of money in her favour.
The five-year-old mare has participated in 13 events until now, winning three of them. Other than that, she has also secured the third place on a couple of occasions. She will be partnered by Kieran O'Neill at Bath.
