  1. Sounds like your stroke  With a 13 I can draw 3 cushions with a 12 bout 3/4 of that what condtion is your tip in also makes a diff.what taper do you have on yours maybe

  2. Reshape your tip to about the same curve as a nickel or have someone do it for you. You may also have a mushroomed tip. Fix it up and you will be quite happy.

  3. They're both right.  A smaller tip won't allow you to put any more spin on the cue ball or with any more control.  You have to have confidence in your cue tip and your stroke to put maximum spin on the cue ball.  I agree that the problem most likely is in the curvature of your tip or as Johnny suggested you might be doing something different with your stroke.  My hunch is that you've subconciously convinced yourself that you can hit lower on the cue ball with a smaller tip, therefore you are hitting the cue ball lower than you would feel comfortable trying with your regular cue.  A few other factors that affect spin are the condition of the balls and the cloth.  It's a good question to ask though.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  4. These guys have it covered. Only thing I can add is that all LePro tips aren't the same. Every once in awhile I'll get a bad one. Don't know what it is, but it just doesn't seem to work very well. Just the opposite sometimes, I'll get one that performs above average. Could just be in my mind but I don't think so. My stroke is pretty consistent and I play on the same few tables most of the time.

  5. ahh... been awhile been busy ! i like this question though as it may answer a lot of peoples questions that they have in their head ! me i shoot with a 11 3/4 shaft . honestly i can get the cue ball in better position cause i feel i can disect the ball a lot more ! other words be more precise with where i am stroking the cue ball ! but i will say as far as draw goes i can draw the same wit a 13 mm house cue as i can with a 11 3/4 predator. draw is a stroke shot no matter if u use a maury(wich i use) lapro, or even the tiger ive watched people that play three cusion draw the cueball like no tomorrow wit a house stick all in ur stroke and how confident u r ! but got to remember to make sure ur tip is not mushroomed. i keep mine dime shaped and scuff it when needed !. now i dont suggest going to a smaller shaft just because u can draw more if u think bout it most players try and play a position that leaves a natural angle to get position on the next ball cause when u have to draw u end up forcing the cueball to do something that is unnatural ! good luck !
