The three former Pakistani cricketers, Shahid Afridi, Aamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-c90628 and Sarfraz Nawaz, have suggested Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to provide job and wages security to both the domestic and International players in order to keep them away from getting involved
in corrupt practices like spot-fixing and match-fixing, which they claim, have brought sheer disrepute to the nation.
The trio has come out to forward this common opinion in the backdrop of one of the three banned players of team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, Mohammad Amir’s recent confession regarding last year’s spot-fixing scandal, which led to his and his two teammates’ banishment from
International cricket.
The seniors believe that the young players are prone to resort to unfair means unless they are sure about their job and financial security. They recommend the board to improvise the financial structure of the domestic and national teams and ensure job securities.
Sohail said, “Unless players get security of job and money in our domestic cricket they will always be susceptible to corruption and bookmakers. But even then most players are not certain about how long they will play for Pakistan and they are concerned
that if out of the national side what will they earn from domestic cricket.”
Afridi told, “I don't know if anyone was really involved but if the Board felt someone was involved they should have taken strict action against him and set a strong example to discourage others from indulging in corruption.”
Nawaz has shifted the entire blame for the gruesome scandal on the PCB, as he reveals the board management always spares the offenders for its own interests.
The issue of the poor financial facilities in Pakistan cricket has already been discussed on many forums but the authorities are reluctant to take any positive step to fix the problem, which many cricket experts believe, is the only hiccup in the way of
Men in Greens' progress.
On the contrary, Pakistan’s cricket archrival, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, has introduced many measures like Indian Premier League (IPL) and Corporate Trophy tournaments to enrich its players.
