Recently Pakistan cricket has become the Paris Hilton in the world of cricket, where no controversy seems to be far away from the country’s cricket. Recently in almost every controversy, Pakistan players have been involved in one way or the other.
Right now the main problem which the cricket crazy nation is facing is the seemingly never ending feud between former one-day skipper Shahid Afridi and chairman of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt. Butt, who seems to be on a crusade to eradicate
player power from Pakistan cricket, is adamant on standing in the way of any player who dares to challenge the authority of the cricket management in the country.
After the spot-fixing debacle, that claimed three main-stream players Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif. It was imagined that some sense will finally prevail in Pakistan cricket and the country will see some calm in the game which is nurtured
and cherished by almost everyone living in that part of the world.
However, the recent predicament has once again exhibited the lack of professionalism that still prevails in Pakistan cricket. Players, from almost all sports all over the world are known for bending rules to their likings, however, it is the governing authorities
that make sure that no one crosses the limits and if problems arise, the management is usually equipped to handle the situation.
Unfortunately, the PCB management seems to lack in the art of handling its untamed players and instead of fixing things, the PCB seems to fuel the situation every time something bad happens in cricket.
This is exactly what happened this time when, Afridi, ended up having differences with the team management during the tour of the Caribbean, over team selection issues. After returning home, the player due to his frustration, blasted the management in front
of the media, however, he never named anyone.
Ijaz Butt then took it upon himself to smack the hard-hitting batsman with a show-cause notice over his unwarranted statements in public. The situation became messy, when on hearing just one side of the story from the team management, Butt, decided to replace
Afridi with Test skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972. The decision irked the all-rounder as it was a clear indication that the board wanted to kick the player out.
However, the board while trying to tackle the situation calmly insisted that there was no objection in the inclusion of the 31-year old Afridi in the national team only as a player. However, for a former captain this was an obvious insult as he later excused
from touring with the team to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 for a one-day series.
After which Afridi, announced his retirement from international cricket. This should have been the end of the whole debacle but instead the PCB wanted to go for round two and this time revoked the None Objection Certificate (NOC)   which was required by
the former skipper to play domestic cricket on foreign land. Having being already signed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789, Afridi desperately needed the NOC which ignited another controversy.
However, this time unlike before, Afridi has take the PCB to court to get his NOC back so that he can play for Hampshire this year and later take part in the Sri Lankan Premier League.
The whole debacle is hurting the already battered Pakistan cricket and instead of extending the current situation, Afridi and the PCB should try to resolve the matter in an amenable manner which will benefit all concerned parties.
