A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has termed the legal notice, which was sent by former skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sahibzada-Mohammad-Shahid-Khan-Afridi-c87933, as "more like a plea".
"We thought of it as a legal notice but given the content, it seems more like a plea to let Afridi start his county stint", he stated.
Earlier, the hard-hitting batsman approached Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) through his lawyers to sort out the dispute, which emerged between the two parties, as a result of Afridi’s media outburst.
The star all-rounder has sent a letter to PCB, highlighting his http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Services-c840 to Pakistan, and also highlighted his Hampshire County contract.
"The letter has gone into some depth in explaining the history of Afridi as a player, his contributions to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319, manager of Afridi said.
The 31-year old all-rounder, who has taken retirement from international cricket, refused to work under the current PCB management and slammed PCB by using cruel language.
In response, PCB has revoked his central contract, and repealed all No Objection Certificates for Afridi to play cricket for English County, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Premier League (SLPL).
The governing body of cricket in Pakistan has also announced a disciplinary committee, and called upon the super star to face the hearing, which is scheduled on June 8, 2011 in PCB headquarters in Lahore.
Meanwhile, the flamboyant cricketer has requested PCB to let him continue his cricket overseas, but the board has turned down his request.
The cricket board has also forwarded the letter, which they received from Mandviwalla and Zafar Associates on behalf of Afridi, to the disciplinary committee.
However, the PCB has not considered this letter as a legal notice, and termed it as an appeal to play cricket for Hampshire.
"I'm not a legal expert but I didn't find any legal stuff in the letter either addressing, or, arguing against the breaches that he made against the code of conduct", the PCB official added.
In the mean time, it is expected that the former captain, who recently led Pakistan to the semi-final of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011, will not present himself in front of a disciplinary committee.
