Former one-day captain, Shahid Afridi, and retired pacer, Shoaib Akhtar, have been invited by the American Cricket Conference (ACC) to play in Carnival T20 cricket, expected to take place on the 4th of July, the independence day of the United
States of America.
Apart from the duo, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canada-c748 have also been invited to play in the event.
According to sources, organizers have already begun the publicity campaign in order to make the event a success. Posters and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vikram-Banerjee-c95263 about the event, featuring the players, have been erected almost all around the city. The organizers have revealed that the

So far, Afridi and Akhtar have not confirmed their participation in the T20 match. However, since both are no longer playing for the national team, it is highly unlikely they will miss the opportunity to mingle with their fans in the American continent,
where cricket has still not bloomed to its full potential.
With a large concentration of Pakistanis in Chicago, a T20 match is likely to attract supporters.
Meanwhile, Afridi who is currently busy playing county cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, might have to take permission from PCB before making an appearance in Chicago.
According to some unconfirmed sources, Pakistan players, even after having retired from international cricket, still fall under the legal framework of the PCB and may require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to appear in any cricket event.
Afridi, last week, managed to resolve his feud with the PCB over the termination of his NOC, which he required in order to play in England.
Afridi had irked the PCB with his media outbursts, which consequently pushed the PCB to revoke his NOC and terminate the central contract. The 31-year-old all-rounder was also fined 4.5 million rupees.
On the other hand, Akhtar is also fighting a legal battle against the PCB to get a fine of 7 million rupees nullified, which was imposed on the pacer three-years ago. Akhtar bid farewell to the game during the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup 2011, where he played his last
match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 8, 2011.
