Pakistan’s ODI skipper, Shahid Afridi, has returned to Pakistan from the Caribbean tour after leading the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 to victory in the One Day International series.
After having lost the first and only Twenty20 International, the Green Caps won the 5-match ODI series by 3-2.
On his arrival to Pakistan, Afridi said, "Although the differences in team management are not such which could not be solved, I feel everyone should do his job and need not interfere in other's work".
The skipper is planning to raise the issue in a meeting with the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, in Lahore next week.
However, board officials have been reluctant to comment on the reports. One source said; "no such incident as described in those reports [Afridi walking away from a meeting] occurred during the series".
Meanwhile, rumours of rifts were floating before the World Cup regarding the appointment of a captain. Waqar was favouring test skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 over the hot-headed Afridi.
Under the leadership of the aggressive all-rounder, team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 qualified for the Semi-final of the event.
The Men in Green have come under heavy criticism after their dismal batting performance in the ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760. The inexperienced West Indian side did now allow the Green Caps to steal the show completely and walk off with a whitewash victory.
After losing two consecutive games, Pakistan’s skipper once again highlighted the need to appoint a dedicated batting coach for the side.
"We should have clean-swept West Indies but the defeat in the last two matches left a bad taste in the mouth; we flopped in batting and that's why I must say we need a batting coach". The star all-rounder added.
He also admitted that he played average cricket since he has been fatigued after the World Cup but he visited West Indies after his friends and family urged him to do so.
