The hosts were unable to post a challenging total and were restricted to 121 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. They failed to cope with the wily leg-spin of star http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 all-rounder, Shahid Afridi, who picked up three wickets in the
match.
In reply, Hampshire achieved the target easily in 17 overs. They lost only three wickets during the process, as the batsmen didn’t find any problems to bat. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Michael-Vince-c65940 top scored the match with 39 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dominic-Cork-c1390 won the toss for Hampshire and elected to bat first. He predicted some moisture beneath the surface of the pitch and the decision to bowl first proved to be a very good one in the end.
Adam Rossington and Ireland’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Robert-Stirling-c81193, opened the innings for Middlesex. They got off to a decent start, scoring 20 runs in quick time. The latter failed to make a big impression though and was dismissed for 14 runs off 10 deliveries, striking three
boundaries.

However, Rossington was unable to convert his start into a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Griffith-c919 innings and was sent back to the pavilion after collecting 25 runs off 17 balls with the help of three fours and one massive six.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Newman-c79297 looked good, but failed to capitalise onto the start he got to his innings. He was dismissed after adding 24 runs to the total from 23 balls, smashing four boundaries.
Just two balls later, the home team’s skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Andrew-Simpson-c67297, who was out for one.
Adding insult to injury, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-McLaren-c2232, was run-out after collecting two runs, leaving the Middlesex team struggling at 74/6.
However, an unbeaten 28 from lower-order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sam-David-Robson-c88185, guided Middlesex’s total above 120 in the end.
Afridi has been in impressive touch since joining Hampshire and dismissed three batsmen for 16 runs in his four-over spell.
