Shahid Afridi criticises Pakistan batting in South African T20Is
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 won both the T20Is with relative
ease after restricting the Pakistanis to scores of 119 and 120 respectively.
Afridi failed in both the games as well, scoring 25 and three while most of the other batsmen except http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 failed to get going.
Afridi said that the entire line-up including himself was to blame for the defeat. He said, "Our batting was a major let down. None of them did well. My performance was crucial for the team and I also failed
to deliver.”
However, he did say that he was confident that the side will do much better in the ODIs than in the T20Is. He said, "But I am sure we can do far better in the ODIs, since I believe that we have players who
have good temperament and can play the 50 overs comfortably."
The bowling wasn’t as bad though and the spinners did a good job during the two games. Defending such a low score, the bowlers ensured that the South African side needed more than 18 overs to get to the total
thanks to the economy of the spin bowlers.
Mohammad Hafeez and Afridi gave away 32 runs between them in eight overs, while Saeed Ajmal had earlier conceded 18 in his four in the first match. What would have hurt the Pakistanis is that Afridi failed
with the ball in the first game while Ajmal conceded too many in the second one.
Afridi praised his bowlers though. He said, "Our bowlers really bowled well. The conditions suited the batsmen, but despite that, our bowlers stuck to a good line and bowled brilliantly,"
The two teams now play in a five match ODI series which will be followed by a couple of Test matches.
