Shahid Afridi desires to play against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 but waiting on PCB’s decision
Pakistan’s limited-overs skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, desires to play in the forthcoming One day international series against Ireland.
Afridi recently made the headlines for his ongoing conflict with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
After Pakistan’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 will feature in two One Day Internationals against the Irish team.
The skipper is currently at odds with the PCB over his comments after returning from the Caribbean.
According to reports, PCB is planning to drop the skipper for violation of the board’s prescribed code of conduct.
During the tour of West Indies, Afridi did not appreciate the interference of management in team selection. On his return from the Caribbean, Afridi expressed his anger by saying that management should mid their own business rather than meddling in selection affairs.
His statements brought him under fire from PCB officials, especially Chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, for violating the code of conduct.
Afridi, who will be playing County in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, declared his availability for Pakistan’s tour of Ireland.
Afridi said “I’m available for the Ireland series; in fact I’ll be in England at that time for my county stint.”

Pakistan and Ireland go way back. Despite being an associate nation, Ireland surprisingly defeated Pakistan and sent them packing from the ICC World Cup 2007.

In the ICC World Cup 2011, the Irish proved their mettle after a commendable 327 run chase against the English.
Afridi, replying to allegations leveled on him, said, “In my reply I cleared that I had no intentions to target any individual or violate the code of conduct, I’ve tried to convince the PCB that it was a general comment which I often give in the interest of the team. I’d be happy to play but it’s up to the board to decide on my selection.”
