Star Pakistan all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Ali-Khan-c89356 Afridi, has termed the Indian Premier League (IPL) by far the best T20 competition in the world.
The 32-year-old made these comments while visiting the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Moin-Khan-c77092 Academy in Karachi. Afridi is set to leave for Sri Lanka to play in the Sri Lankan Premier League which is due to start from Aug 12, representing Ruhuna Royals.
The former Pakistan captain, who was recently roped in by Sydney Thunder for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL), has remained a hot property in T20 leagues, plying his trade in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 in the Friends Life T20.
The flamboyant all-rounder represented Deccan Chargers during his first edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008, after which Indian authorities cut-off all sporting ties with Pakistan and forbade its players to take part in the IPL, owing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 terror attacks.
Despite the snub, Afridi has fond memories of his time in the IPL.
"Although I played just once in the IPL but it is easily the biggest league you can play in and I enjoyed my experience. The IPL is clearly the best organised foreign league and it was a totally different experience playing in it," Afridi said.
Afridi expressed his disappointment over the absence of Pakistani players in lucrative event but was optimistic that things are progressing in the right direction between the two nations.
