Afridi, the 32-year-old hard-hitting batsman and a veteran leg-spinner, injured his left thumb during the third and final One Day Internationals against the Kangaroos, at Sharjah on Monday. He received two stitches on the injured thumb and needs a recovery
period of three to five days, said a PCB official on Tuesday.
“Normally, stitches require three to five days to recover and Afridi might not be available for the first two matches,” the PCB official told media on the eve of the series opener, in Dubai, on Wednesday.
