Shahid Afridi praises http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 for his leadership skills
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820, for his outstanding leadership in the ICC World Cup 2011. He said that Dhoni has been a stable captain, who led his team with consistency.
Afridi, who has unintentionally uttered rude remarks about Indians being not as large hearted as Pakistanis, has finally expressed his admiration for his Indian counterpart. He said that the team under Dhoni’s captaincy has performed brilliantly in the mega
event.
According to reports, the Pakistani all-rounder has said, “He had a big role to play in the Indian victory and I am sure this victory means a lot for Indian cricket and their people. But I also hope the World Cup coming back to Asia will also boost the sport
in this region again and normalise bilateral Indo-Pak cricket relations”.
However, he also accepted the fact that the Indian side was better in the semi-final of the tournament and they deserved to win the coveted title. Afridi also praised the batting line up of the Indian cricket team and stated that their magnificent cricket
icon, Sachin Tendulkar,  has given his best and played exceptionally well in all matches of the tournament.
While talking about Tendulkar’s brilliant performance, Afridi exclaimed, “His hunger for runs is amazing and only he can best decide what he wants to do in the future. But I can tell you this age is no bar to his success in either Tests or One Day Internationals”.
The Pakistan skipper also said that he himself is a big fan of the Indian maestro, Tendulkar, and has placed the legend’s autographed shirt in his drawing room.
Afridi also clarified his so-called “negative” comments about the Indians by saying that he has not said anything deliberately. He added that Indian audience has always admired Pakistan’s team and has supported them throughout.
The ICC 2011 World Cup’s highest wicket taker went on to explain that he has no personal grudges against his neighbours. In fact, he has always tried to improve relations between both countries by playing friendly cricket with them.
He added that bringing politics into sport only leads to misunderstandings, something that's unacceptable in sport.
