http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board’s (PCB) disciplinary committee proceedings to be held on June 8, seeking explanation for his conduct.
Afridi’s legal counsel said that the trial of his client was illegal since the constitution of Pakistan gives a person the right to be heard prior to a judgment.
"The process followed by the PCB does not conform with the law as even under Pakistan's constitution there is a right given to everyone to be heard before a case is decided," Zafar said in a news conference.
The former Pakistani captain, also present at the conference, suggested that an independent tribunal should be formed including people from outside the board, who can come up with a fair decision regarding the matter.
He reckoned that the disciplinary committee of the PCB cannot make an unbiased decision, as it includes board members. The three-member disciplinary committee would be headed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sultan-Rana-c91768.
The 31-year-old also said that he did not like the way he was sacked as a captain. He was not informed even on telephone nor was he given any reason for his snub. He asserted that he learnt about his removal through the media.
PCB took away One Day captaincy from Afridi last month and appointed the Test captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751.
Earlier, PCB’s release showed that the former cricketer had violated clause 2.1.4 of his Central Contract, dealing with Covenants of the Cricketer, by announcing his retirement directly to media, without informing any of the board officials.
In addition, by passing weary remarks regarding the board’s authorities, Afridi had breached clause 4.4, dealing with media obligations.
Taking a stern notice of Afridi’s actions, PCB not only revoked all non-objection-certificates (NOCs) issued to the all-rounder, but also cancelled his central contact with the board.
Without NOCs, Afridi will not be able to play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 or the inaugural season of the Sri Lankan Premier League.
Later, it was revealed that the Sri Lankan board allowed the player to participate in their Twenty20 event without the NOC.
However, there are some rules set by the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625), which are hindering Afridi’s path in the absence of the NOCs.
