The star all-rounder has always been an asset for the team when it comes to bowling, but his batting has mostly been criticised due to inconsistency.
However, Afridi proved his critics wrong by batting sensibly in the 201st ODI in Sharjah. He came in at a difficult time, as five wickets had fallen within 100 runs.
Things got even worse with a couple of more batsmen getting out with just 120 runs on the board.
Afridi was left alone with the tail and everyone expected him to play a rash stroke, especially in the batting power-play between overs 36 and 40.
However, the flamboyant player took calculated risk, guiding his side to 200 with a terrific knock of 75 runs off 65 balls.
Although this effort saw the Men in Green post a challenging target, it was still within reach of the Sri Lankan team.
The tourists looked comfortable while chasing the score until Afridi devastated them with a sensational spell of bowling. He picked up five wickets and won the man of the match award for a spectacular all-round show.

The veteran further went onto say, “I am feeling great and I feel all the more happy because Pakistan won the match.”
