Shahid Afridi says he will never captain Pakistan again – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 has claimed that he will never accept captaincy of the team in the future even if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offers it to him.
The veteran player stated, “After the way I was treated last year I was heartbroken and I have decided never to be the captain again and to just carry on as a ordinary member of the team and do whatever I can for the team as a senior player. I don't want
to be sacrificed time and again over the captaincy issue.”
Afridi was captain of the Pakistan cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 cricket until the first quarter of last year. He led the team to the semi-final of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in a tough clash.
Despite that, Afridi was retained as captain of the side for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193 back then.

Following this breach of contract, Afridi was sacked from captaincy and was given clarification that the coach was given powers to have a say in selection by the board.

Later, Afridi also returned to the national side following the departure of Waqar and Butt. However, he has clarified that he does not intend to become captain again and will keep on playing as a senior member.
The veteran further added, “While playing in the UAE I did my best to ensure the environment remained good and even when I was captain I used to make every effort to ensure that the dressing room atmosphere remained good.”
