The Hampshire manager, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Giles-William-White-c60086, has confirmed that the flamboyant Pakistani all-rounder, Shahid Afridi, will get back to the side before the quarter-final round of the ongoing English domestic Twenty20 league, Friends Life T20.
A few days ago, Afridi reached http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782, scheduled to be played next month.
Confirming Afridi’s come back, White said, “As far as I’m aware, he is definitely coming back for the quarter-final. He’s a very fine player and he’s performed extremely well for us in the qualifiers. He’s very keen to come back. His father is not very well
but when he left, he said he would be back for the quarter-final whatever.”
The 31-year-old all-rounder got permission to play for Hampshire after a long controversy with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The conflict was stirred up by the PCB http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mal-Loye-c1879, when he sacked Afridi from captaincy following his media outburst against the coach,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193.
While Afridi’s was issued a show-cause notice for breaching the code of conduct, the former Pakistan skipper, in protest, took ‘conditional’ retirement from International cricket.
After the involvement of national politics, the Board resolved the dispute, granting Afridi the No Objection Certificate (NOC), after slapping him with a hefty fine of 4.5 million rupees.
The blazing all-rounder performed outstandingly in the Twenty20 league, emerging as the highest wicket-taker for his county with 14 scalps in eight games. Besides excellent bowling performance, Afridi showed a little glimpse of his talent with the bat, playing
a pivotal role in taking his side to the knockouts.
Heaping special praise on the blistering all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 in the quarter-final round of the championship.
“It’s been really encouraging the way we’ve played. We’ve played some good cricket in this competition.  The batsmen looked in good form and, hopefully, we can take that good form into the quarter-finals,” added the manager of the Hampshire County.
