The hottest dispute in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket recently, between former skipper Afridi and PCB, toned down when influential figures barged in and tried to reduce the fury of the two parties involved and convinced them to discuss and solve the matter outside the court. This effort produced fruitful results as Afridi decided to take back his petition.
Right after the case was withdrawn, Mehmood Mandviwala, Afridi’s lawyer, gave an interview to the media and said that it was a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Timothy-Francis-Bloomfield-c94006 gesture on their part but now PCB, who according to him had been acting unreasonably, has to reciprocate fairly.
As the PCB and the skipper are ready for a meeting, the lawyer is hoping for a fair deal.
Mehmood clarified that if the meeting does not result in a solution, the matter can again be taken to court and then justice would be demanded through the legal process.
He hopes that after the settlement Afridi would show his talent and hit the same sixes for which he is known across the world.
Mehmood demands justice for his client and believes in fairness. He added that his client has no objections to the disciplinary process that the PCB committee has.
However, he spoke against intentional delays by the PCB, since the T20 tournament in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 is just one month ahead. He demands that Afridi should be given the right to play cricket as soon as possible in order to prevent irreparable loss.
The expected meeting between Afridi and PCB will take place today, June 16, 2011. Mehmood shared that there was a Deadlock from the Board’s side earlier, otherwise Afridi’s wanted to go for the reconciliatory path and not take the extreme measures which he was forced to take. Several attempts were made to do it peacefully and but due to board’s rigidity, nothing seemed to be working.
Hopefully this meeting will go well and both the parties will come to a fair and just agreement.
The former skipper’s fans simply want to see him in action, which may be for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 or the Sri Lankan premier league. Mehmood also expressed that the PCB should not fine the cricketer in lieu of the goodwill he has shown by dropping the case against the board.
