I have to do a sort of speech/monologue in the form of shakespearean theatre. I thought that this would be easiest by chosing something from shakespeare himself!

I need a females part and am looking at things from the merchant of venice but i dont know what most of it means and am really having trouble finding something.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks x*x

  1. There are many fine female Shakespearean monologues.  If you are not acquainted with Shakespeare it first seems almost like a foreign language.  It is much easier than it looks if you relax and look up some of  meanings that you don't understand.  Many texts have modern English "translations".  It really is worth the effort.

Once you pick a speech and start your research you can ask specific questions.
