Shakhtar Donetsk deny Liverpool approach for Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Football News

Ukrainian giants, Shakhtar Donetsk, have denied reports that Liverpool have made an official bid for the attacking midfielder. The club stated that the Reds have not come up with an official approach for the player but insisted
that they will listen to offers for the talented midfielder.
If reports are to be believed, the Merseyside giants have shown keen interest in signing the Armenian international. The player had a sensational season last term with Shakhtar Donetsk and Liverpool look to strengthen their attacking
options this summer. The side has already made the signing of former Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas earlier this month.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s CEO, Sergei Palkin, claimed that there has been no official approach from the English side and denied any reports stating that an agreement has been reached. He stated that the rumours are not true and the talks
have not started yet.
“As you know, there have been too many different conversations about Henrikh Mkhitaryan. But the situation has been strongly and artificially inflated. I can say that we have had no communication from any member of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Palkin claimed that the club would want to keep the midfielder as he was a key player for the club last season. However, he added that any offers coming for the player will be listened to and added that the club
will not stand in the player’s way.
He insisted that the Donetsk side has already sold the likes of Willian and Fernandinho and adequate replacements will be signed.
“Henrikh is an important player in our team. Shakhtar want to keep him but we are willing to listen and consider all proposals for his transfer. We have already parted with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernandinho-c13605 but the club will not just sell
players. Soon we will also strengthen ourselves with quality players, designed to replace those who have left,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Henrikh-Mkhitaryan-c16068 scored a stunning 25 times in the Ukrainian League last season in the 28 games he took part in. The attacking midfielder was the league’s top scorer.
