Shakib-Al-http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 looking for a break – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shakib-Al-Hasan-c2492, intends to go on a bit of a break from cricket after the upcoming IPL, as he has been continuously playing for two years without taking much rest.
The left-handed batsman may also not appear in this year’s English County, following his second season with Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he has not confirmed his plans yet.
"The county cricket [stint] hasn't been confirmed yet. I still don't know if I would play [county cricket], even if I am fit," said Shakib.
The world No. 1 ODI all-rounder has taken only three breaks so far since he has made his International debut. A three-month break in 2008, a few months in early 2009 and in the second half of the same year.
“If they [whichever county team he might sign with this season] tell me to go and join them straight after the IPL, I won't go, that's what I have planned,” said the left-handed all-rounder.
Shakib believes taking break from competitive cricket is equally important as playing cricket, because this helps the player relax and rejuvinate. Shakib himself has risen significantly in international rankings after his last break and has attained a high stature while playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Worcestershire-c866 and the IPL.
"I need a break. I have some stuff of my own to take care of. To play good cricket, one needs to stay away from cricket too," added the 25-year-old cricketer.
For the last one year, Shakib is in supreme form through all formats of the game. He not only batted well, with the averages of 44 and 50 in ODIs and Tests but also bowled at the average of 29 in both forms of the game. In the recently concluded Asia Cup, he made 64, 49, 56 and 68 and was twice titled the Player of the Match.
The all-rounder however, admitted he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders being a key player of the team and sometimes faces difficulty in meeting the expectations of stakeholders. But despite all the pressure, he remains focused on the game and keeps trying to do better.
