Following the startling revelations regarding corruption in the cash-rich Indian Premier League, the BCCI’s newly set-up inquiry commission has begun its probe into the allegations, with Shalabh Srivastava having deposed before the committee on Wednesday
this week.
The credibility of the tournament was thrown into doubt following startling revelations by a sting operation carried out by television channel
India TV. The footage, aired during prime time, suggested that corruption was rampant in the IPL, with players engaging in spot-fixing, accepting bribes and black money, and negotiating fees for agreeing to bowl deliberate no-balls.

association with the scandal. In addition to issuing suspension orders, the board also agreed, during a meeting of top officials with members from the IPL Governing Council, to set up an inquiry commission which would probe the matter further.

released by the BCCI.
Srivastava, who is associated with both http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 (in the IPL, though he has not played any matches for the team in the current season), has categorically denied any involvement in corrupt activities.
Speaking in response to accusations that he had negotiated a fee for agreeing to bowl a no-ball, the 30-year-old medium pacer explained that he had been out of action since last year, and added that the voice in the audio clip was not his. Pointing out that
it is easy to frame someone with a doctored clip, he insisted that he was innocent, and would fight to clear his name.
