Shalambar set to shine at Windsor – Android Handicap Preview
Shalambar is likely to carry the day convincingly when he runs in the Skybet Mobile For Iphone & Android Handicap, the Class 5 contest that is going to take place at Windsor racecourse on Monday, April 16.
The Tony Carroll-trained grey gelding is quite confident to compete against 15 rivals including Honourable Knight, Reset City, Amistress, Broughton Sands, Shades Of Grey, Star Commander, Shirataki, Timocracy, Hurricane Hymnbook, The Mongoose, Beat Route,
Filun, Maison Brillet, Managua and Oneiric.
The high-stakes race over a distance of 1 mile 3 furlongs and 135 yards will commence at 5:30 (GMT). The prize purse contains £2,264.
Though the race card has some big names but Shalambar looks to be in the most favourable position to finish first in the mega marathon.
The six-year-old veteran horse has been carrying immense winning momentum since the last couple of months. The brilliant sprinter marvellously grabbed a runner-up rank in Happy 75th Birthday Roy Chrismas Handicap on March 7.
The talented gelding moved forward to clinch top spot in £32 Free At 32red.Com Handicap on March 22. This sterling success beautifully boosted up the morale of the victor.
Prior to this, Shalambar had accomplished an epic triumph along with a runner-up rank during November 2011.
Overall, the experienced horse has won 5 out of his total 24 starts, earning £22,382 as prize money.
The B. J. Millen-owned sprinter has as high as 90 percent chances to finish first in the coming contest if he manages to contain two of his strong opponents like Shirataki and Filun.
Filun marvellously won three races in a row during April-May 2011. Anthony Middleton’s bay gelding proceeded to grab 3rd and 2nd positions in two back-to-back events in June. As a whole, he has 4 triumphs to his name.
On the other hand, Shirataki bagged a couple of consecutive victories in December 2011. The Peter Hiatt-trained bay gelding moved forward to clinch 3rd and 2nd positions in two races during January-February 2012. He excellently finished
first in a tough contest on March 7.
By and large, the race is going to be packed with twists and thrill. Let us see who Shalambar manages to keep his head high. Good luck to all the contestants.
