  1. A 17" laptop is basically like a desktop.  It is for someone who prefers a 17" laptop over a desktop, but for people who need a little more portability around the house.   Because of its size, it's heavier, takes up a little more space.  For most, it's not as comfortable in your lap and sometime more difficult to place.  It's generally more powerful with more screen for viewing.  17" laptops do burn cooler than 15"and generally tend to last a little longer.

Most people who want more screen, buy a larger screen for home or use an HDTV if they have one or one is available to use  If you want portability, the 15" smaller, lighter and less likely to fall from you fingers.

  2. A 17 Inch laptop will burn more power, vs a 15 inch.

  3. get the 12.1 tablet hybrid it has a touch screen with handwriting recognition im using mine right now absolutely awesome I get compliments all the time btw its a hp tx1*** its a series unless you want battery life than go for 15 inch and the 17 its just like carrying a full size monitor with you its ridiculous for portability. cause this laptop suck juice at the rate of 1% a minute but it is very performace inclined

  4. 15 has 2 less inches

    17 has 2 more

Seriously though, not an entirely compelling question but I like you so il give ya a hand :)

2 Inches makes more or less no difference other than (duh) how big the screen is, I think you already knew the answer :)

Instead of thinking what size laptop screen to get, put the money from not getting the 17 inch toward a wireless mouse, usb keyboard or a bag.

  5. A 15 inch laptop is of course lighter.  A 17 inch laptop is usually more expensive and is for media stuff and games.

  6. The large the screen the better it is!

  7. go for a 15 if you are more interested in office work i.e. presentation, reading, writing, etc or if you travel a lot..

the 17 is more suitable for media enthusiasts i.e. those who play games or frequently watch movies.

It comes down to the convenience of hanging out with it.. If u can carry it with ease, go for 17..

  8. what suits you

  9.      - 17 inch

    bigger

    uses more power

    heavier

needs more powerful hardware to keep it running as fast as a 15 inch

         - 15 inch

    smaller

    uses less power

    lighter

doesn't need as much hardware performance to run smoothly

    cheaper

  10. If it'll be used on a desk all day long then it won't matter, but if that's the case then a desktop also becomes an option.

  11. Depends on whether want you portability.

If you actually are going to be carrying your laptop around with you then staying away from the 17" screen would be a very good idea (those laptops tend to be big and heavy).

  12. most likely on a 17 inch the background pic ill go really out of focus and uses more power so stick with a 15 there cute

  13. I've got a 15 and it's big enough.  If you just do regular stuff, not special programming, you don't really need a 17.  it won't add much, is what I'm saying.  The 15 is nice because you can carry it easier.  Even my 15 is builky to carry, so I'm glad I don't have the 17.

Save the money and spend it on a nice laptop bag, or something for school.  If money isn't the issue, it's just the size, but again, the 17 doesn't really add all that much for regular use. I do graphics and I don't really think a 17 would help me all THAT much.

  14. dell vostro 1510 or dell 19inch screen. dellov vostro laptop has a 15.4inch screen. about the right size.

  15. its always best to view a large screen. i think if something is wrong about having large screen is the storage size.
