I have won a pair of tickets for radio 1's big weekend, sunday and having looked at what I could sell them for on ebay I am so tempted to sell them. I just would like some money for a first car. How do I go about selling them when they are linked to me. Do I just say there is no guarantee? £500 is a lot of money for someone like me!

Do you think I should sell them?

  1. Thing's may be different in the UK, but in most parts of the US, it wouldn't be a problem to sell them especially if you were just charging "face value."

But what do you mean they are "linked" to you. If you have actual tickets (not a certificate or letter) and you mean the station has the serial numbers of the tickets next to your name on a list somewhere. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you have a letter, certificate or your name is on a list, don't try to sell them. Go and enjoy.

Check the rules and any papers that you signed when you picked up the tickets. If it says "not transferable" somewhere and it's prominent, then it could be a problem.

You really can't sell them with no guarantee. Whoever buys them will not know there's a problem until they show up at the show and don't get in. At that point, they're going to contact eBay and you'll have to give back the money and probably lose your eBay privleges. Then nobody gets to use the tickets.

If I were you, and I was clear it's not illegal, I'd sell them, then watch or listen from home. But don't take any  chances and if you decide to sell, and you decide to do it in person, have an older person with you when you make the transfer and insist on cash. By mail is better if you have time - and you can accept PayPal or a cheque. So make sure their cheque or money order clears the bank before sending the tickets - and be sure to use a service that will insure the package and provide delivery confirmation.

  2. if they have your name on them than you may not be able to sell them because they may need a forum of id to get in.(to insure its you) but if not go ahead and sell them

  3. ahh lucky you

to be honest if i were you i'd just go

because radio 1 have tightened up on selling tickets

    spesh the free ones

i mean you could do it and everything go okay

its whether you want to take the chance you know?

however if you do sell your tickets

make sure you say that there is no guarantee that they will be able to use the tickets if they i.d., that it is their choice if they want to chance it and make sure you say that there will be no refunds if that is the case...

wouldnt want you to have to give the money back and not even used the tickets

    hope it helps
