Our island has been struck by heavy torrential rains thus creating surprising flood which destroyed many houses, schools, health canters etc. Some of us are courageous enough to cry of help but others are hiding disasters in silence. Many families have been left homeless, no provision with kids to take care of. Nothing left but desolation. How can we ask for humanitarian assistance?? Please reply to us, thank you.

  1. Where are you?  Try the Red Cross: 800-733-2767   Or this link might help:  http://www.directrelief.org/AboutUs/Cont...

  2. Please contact International Red Cross contact information is available at http://www.icrc.org/web/eng/siteeng0.nsf...

Generally Red Cross can come into a situation only when there is a request for help from the govermnment but they may be able to advise you how that would be done in your situation based on whereever you are,

  3. Not devastated enough so that you can't use a PCV though!  Governments deal with aid not individuals - get your Prime Minister to contact ours!

  4. Since you are able to use the Internet you can   Contact the United Nations Counsel In you area. You might be able to contact Americorps ( we do provide assistance or contact  information) www.americorps.com. Make your Internet work for you.

  5. Seems like your government would be doing the reaching out.  And if your island was so devistated, how do you still have internet access, much less equipment to access it with?  I smell a rat, here, and it ain't on my upper lip!

  6. where are you?.... knock knock.... hello.... are you there?...you still have the internet!
