Shall i buy a lcd tv now ? what brand and price?

I would say No... not now as prices are bound to come down in the near future... but there are many more other reasons, my main on being this:

Technically speaking, the worst thing about LCD TVs etc is that their screen aspect ratio is 16:9 i.e. wide angle and none of the cable companies, DTH, IPTV providers etc are wide screen, so unless you only want to only watch wide screen DVD movies, you'll end up with stretched pictures and your overall experience will be bad... because, if the whole point is about better picture quality then how can people even think of calling a stretched picture good in quality...

If you decide to use the 4:3 aspect ratio setting of your LCD then you'll be wasting lots of inches on both the sides, and i guess you would have paid extra money to buy a bigger model...

all in all, stay away,.... there is nothing wrong with CRT TVs, they have great quality to begin with and are a lot cheaper....

CRT TVs are excellent value for money, stick to them, if you can...

Good television brands are Samsung, Panasonic and Sony. Toshiba also make some good models.

Every one will honestly accept that CRT  are giving superb quality as against any LCD tv.

This LCD tvs are 12 bit and soon will go in godowns with resolution issue solved by better technology.(as very costly 1 mega pixel are now place in garbage)

if your looking for a very big screen size like 50inch then your gunner hav to get plasma, however if ur lookin between 32-42 inch then u want LCD
