After all, they took the initiative. And when the truce breaks down, this time it will be easy to identify the the truce-breaker - who threw the first stone - in other words the true aggressor. Opinons?

  1. Who else might we praise? Many sacrifices were made; let us hope when the truce is broken it will be known to all that the star of david did it.

  2. Yes,as you point out they took the initiative. They also acted wisely in selected from a variety of options presented by various peace-brokers. It has been a difficult year and hopefully the truce will hold. It is also time for the U.S. to reconsider it's clasification of the Hamas Party as a "terrorist" organization; they have governed well and honestly, without harshness or corruption.

  3. wow, i havent been keeping up with the news this is great if they find any bit of peace thats what most of the world wants and needs, i just hope both sides find it in them to keep the peace.

  4. Of course; we may expect to see Haniyah emerge as a major figure from this. He is the obvious leader for a liberated Palestine.

  5. Yes, kudos to Gaza, but also kudos to Israel as well.

  6. You call this success.

Gaza is economically bankrupt and they are not feeding the people.  Some success.

they are beaten down and using guile.

Let's see how successful they are at controlling the other terrorist groups they feed.

Now that would be successful peace keeping.

When the treaty is broken by Islamic terrorist perhaps we will see Hamas pulled down by the citizens.

  7. no

quotes"Palestinian militants fired 50 rockets and mortars toward Israel on Wednesday, and Israel responded with airstrikes in Gaza just hours before a truce was to take effect, illustrating how fragile the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas would be."

  8. Yes,but also remember the victims of zionist aggression and never forget that the ultimate goal of liberating Palestine from jewish enslavement must remain the historical goal, however long it takes.

  9. Let the Lions of Gaza rest for a while . Tend to her wounds . Sharpen her claws .

  10. yes, anyone who promotes a truce or peace should be praised. I do hope that it does not break down.

Arafat was deemed a terrorist, then he made peace and received the Nobel Peace Prize. Wouldn't it be something if we saw Hamas standing up in line to receive the prize also? Peace.

  11. Gaza need a break but Gaza will never give up.

  12. It is time to pause also and reflect of the sacrifices, the suffering and many dead, both defenders and civilians. Yes,we must praise them and especially Ismail Haniyah, who has acted with wisdom, restraint and statemanship.

  13. Absolutely; it took months of intensive efforts, three attempts via three different countries and at all points under siege circumstances. For their first foray into international diplomacy, the Hamas-led government of Gaza has done a spectacular job.

  14. I doubt it will matter how easy it is. The last Israel-Hamas truce ended when Israeli rockets killed seven innocent Palestinians at a picnic, yet Hamas is painted as the aggressor.

  15. WHAT????????

THEY TOOK THE INITIATIVE, SINCE WHEN?

ISRAEL AND AMERICA DID THE PEACE TALKS, GAZA STOLE LAND AND SHOT ROCKETS AT SDEROT

  16. I am amazed how skillful Hamas is. They are true patriots and they have and will prove to be extremely effective at governing. They have survived a year of brutal jewish aggression, any other government would have crumbled but they have not.

I quote a Hamas official "We've only become stronger. We will not stand down. We will not go back," said Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri.

Now, they have proved to the world that they have taken the initiative for peace and we will see who actually throws the first stone, certainly not Hamas.
