Shamdarley gets the best odds for William Hill Spring Mile (Handicap)
Shamdarley has received the best odds for winning William Hill Spring Mile (Handicap) at Doncaster in England on Saturday, March 31, 2012. A cash prize of £24,900 has been set for the triumphant horse.
Going will be good in the 1 mile long race, which is scheduled to start at 2:05 GMT, and a total of 22 runners have been attracted towards it.
Following are the names of the confirmed entries: Mont Ras, Captain Bertie, Shamdarley, Perfect Cracker, Crown Counsel, Kay Gee Be, Leviathan, Reve De Nuit, Snow Bay, Kingscroft, Kyllachy Star, Prince Of Burma, First Post, Kiwi Bay, Norse Blues, Redvers,
Weapon Of Choice, Arabian Spirit, Mullins Way, Tevez, Miami Gator and Pat´s Legacy.
Michael Dods’ trained runner, Shamdarley, has managed to impress the bookies, as he has a pretty decent record overall. He has won three races out of 10 attempts in his career until now whereas finished third in a couple of them.
This shows that the four-year-old gelding has the potential of fighting for victories. His recent form has also been good, as he managed to win the last race he took part in. The punters will also have a lot of faith in his abilities, thus they will be placing
quite a few bets in his favour.
Today’s favourite runner will be partnered by Phillip Makin, who has an impressive record at this level.
Captain Bertie is another runner, who can battle for victory at Doncaster today. His strike rate is not good though, as he has managed to win just one race out of 10 attempts. This will discourage the bettors from risking money over him.
However, the four-year-old gelding has finished runner up and third on a couple of occasions each, which suggests that he is fully capable of giving a tough time to his rivals.
Charles Hills’ trainee has not been in good form over the past few months and he finished 13th in his most recent outing. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Robert Winston, who has won plenty of races in this class.
Other than the top two favourites, Mont Ras will also be a force to reckon, as he has been in terrific form over the past few months. He has entered seven races in his career, winning three of them and finishing runner up in one.
