Shane Bond appointed as Central Districts’ assistant coach

This is second stint of the former pace bowler of the Black Caps with Central Districts. He also toured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 with the Stags in a similar role to participate in the Airtel Champions League T20 tournament in September this year.
"I really enjoyed my time with the Stags at the Champions League", Bond told the media reporters. "They are a team with great potential and I am really excited at the opportunity to help defend them defend their title".
The Central Districts Stags though finished the Champions League T20 tournament at the bottom of Group B after losing all of their scheduled four league games but they are the reigning champions of the HRV Cup, lifting the trophy twice.
Bond, who had his international debut in November 2001, feels the presence of England imports http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ian-Blackwell-c1569 and Michael Yardy will bolster the defending champions. “I'm really looking forward to what will be a great month or so of Twenty20
cricket", said the fast, fearsome and frustratingly fragile Bond.
The head coach of the Stags Alan Hunt praised Bond’s inclusion as his assistant saying that his (Bond) spell with Central Districts would be invaluable. "Having played Twenty20 cricket at the highest level so recently, Shane offers a valuable
insight into the tactical and strategic side of the game. Developing and implementing plans about where and how to bowl at the various stages of an innings is critical and Shane offers a lot in this respect”, said the coach.
The coach also showed confidence in the group of promising young pacers and said that the involvement of 35-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canterbury-c775 fast bowler with them is an important part of their ongoing development, “so it is great to have him back with
us", said Hunt.
Hugh Henderson, the Central Districts chief executive called Bond a welcome addition to the management of franchise. "He is someone who sets very high standards and it is this attitude that we will need if we are to successfully defend
the HRV Cup".
Central Districts will defend their title when they will kick off their HRV campaign against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northern-Districts-c825 on 2nd of December. Shane Bond will join the side as assistant coach after next week's Plunket Shield games.
