if he had started playing early and been less prone to injury and not joined ICL i bet he would've been one of the all time great bowlers. he economy rate, consistency, accuracy, average, pace, varation.. the sweet inswinging yorker and able to generate so much pace from a short runup where a treat to watch. i hope ICL is recognized by ICC and then he will play again. he was one of those fast bowlers who turned the game on it's head and a thoroughbred amongst cricketers. but alas it wasn't meant to be.. your thoughts?

  1. I think NZ are being very very silly not picking one of the most accurate and fastest bowlers in the world purely because he wanted to earn some money.

If you believe everything you read, Shane was told it was OK to sign up for the ICL when he asked the NZ board. They subsequently changed their mind but he had already signed the contract for the big bucks so he went anyway.

Sides should pick their best players if they are fit. Bond has a test bowling average of 22.39 and started very well for Hampshire (before another injury!) this year. I think they should still be selecting him.
