Wright, who had been appointed mid-2011 following his retirement from Australian first-class cricket, cited his desire to spend more time with his family and stay closer to home as the reason behind his decision, bringing a 13-month stint to an end.

Following the announcements regarding the soon-to-be vacated post, Bond has revealed his interest in the job, although he went on to add that he would require more details, including a job description, before he could make any concrete statements.
“I am interested in the role, but I want to know more,” Bond said while speaking to Fairfax NZ News. “There's not much else to say really, until I see a job description.”
Bond, who retired from international cricket in 2010 following a brilliant career which was hampered by injuries, made his debut for the national side in 2001 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at Hobart. He went on to play a total of 18 Tests (with 87 scalps to his credit) and 82 ODIs (147 wickets) for the Black Caps, and has also been affiliated with the Indian Premier League franchise, the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Following his retirement, the 37-year-old has been serving as a bowling coach for the NZC and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Buchanan-c48808 claiming that while NZC aims to go through the advertising process, Bond had the particular interest of the board.
“We'll go through the advertising process,” Buchanan said. “We're aware that Damien Wright has to move on so we'll go through that process, but obviously someone like Shane Bond presents as one of the candidates that we're very interested in talking with.”
