Shane Cameron will spar with David Haye for his bout against Monte Barrett – Boxing News
David Haye is currently sparring with Shane Cameron for his bout on July 14 against Dereck Chisora. Shane Cameron will be facing Monte Barrett on July 5. Since both the fighters are close friends and their fights are in July, they have taken up the opportunity
to spar together.
Haye’s bout against Chisora is one of the most anticipated bouts this year. It is a fight that has been surrounded with controversies and grudges, yet it is happening. The British Board of Boxing Control and the WBC is against the event but it is being sanctioned
by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.
Ken Reinsfield, Cameron’s manager, spoke about the training camp of Cameron with Haye. He said, “It is perfect timing. Luck hasn't gone our way in the past but this time it has. It has worked out really well. "It's just like when Shane sparred Mike Tyson,
it's an opportunity to test yourself against one of the best on the planet. Although it is not in a fight it is the next best thing. The Haye camp aren't silly people. They realise that Shane is fighting Barrett. They can see that he wants good preparation
and they obviously want good sparring themselves. And they are not just getting a sparring partner, they are getting a guy who is preparing for a fight, not someone who is just going to bounce around the ring and be a mobile punching bag.”
It should be noted here that the European Boxing Federation has already issued a warning against the LFB. According to the warning, the LFB will be expelled from the board if it sanctions the fight. However, still the Luxembourg Boxing Federation is supporting
the event. Things are turning as days are passing by. The BBBC has stopped several fighters, managers and promoters from taking part in the event. Some of them have been stopped unwillingly, as the BBBC warned them of revoking their license. Even the WBC is
now standing toe to toe with the BBBC but the WBO is supporting the event. On the other hand, according to Vitali Klitschko, the match between Haye and Chisora is a freak show with freak rules.
