Shane Doan still playing patience game as unrestricted free agent -NHL Update
The Phoenix Coyotes can rest assured that they most probably will not lose their veteran forward and team leader, Shane Doan, as the captain continues to be patient in the whole ownership issue going on with the club at the moment.
Shane Doan has obviously been made offers by a number of teams around the National Hockey League (NHL) but has not given a definitive answer to any. Leaving Phoenix Coyotes is the last thing on his mind, but if compelled to do so, it is always a possibility.
He was talking to reporters while attending meetings between the NHL and Players’ Association on Thursday, July 19, 2012, in New York.
"I've made no bones about the fact that I want to go back to Phoenix if the situation works out," said Doan. "I understand at some point I'll have to probably make a decision without knowing all the information, but until I get as much information as I can,
I'm going to try to wait."
Having spent 16 years with the Phoenix Coyotes in Glendale, Arizona, moving is not always as pleasant an experience as it should be and especially with a family and older kids, planning ahead of time and making the decision to move forth is crucial.
"I want to make (my decision) as soon as I can," Doan said. "I've got four kids and my wife getting ready for the upcoming season. My kids are older. They're all in school. They've got different things they like to do, whether it's dance or hockey or volleyball
or swimming.”
Doan is definitely waiting for the affirmative from Greg Jamison’s side and his bid for purchasing the Phoenix Coyotes club. It was also learnt that Phoenix had made Doan an offer right away after the 2012 NHL playoffs, but due to the sale still in the process
of being finalised by the league, Doan is waiting on it.
Updates on Shane Doan and his status with Phoenix Coyotes should be expected in the upcoming days. There are also rumours afloat that the San Jose Sharks are expecting an answer from him within the next few days.
