http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987 striker Shane Long is happy with West Brom’s start to the season, but insists that the team will not get carried away and will build on its home form to keep their momentum running.
West Brom began their Premier League campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at home, where the Baggies completely dismantled the Reds and deservedly got the three points.
The club then travelled to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham and managed to earn a draw in the dying minutes of the game, courtesy of a James Morrison last gasp strike. Despite going a goal down in the second half, West Brom kept on pressing for the equalizer
and got their reward with just seconds remaining on the clock.
Later, West Brom hosted an in-form and impressive Everton at home. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 had defeated Manchester United at Goodison Park and then thrashed Aston Villa away in a game that ended 3-1. Everton were eying a third consecutive win, and West Brom were targeting
another home victory.
This looked to be an intense and evenly contested game, considering the form of both teams. However, West Brom comfortably saw off Everton and won the game 2-0, again impressing in midfield and up front.
The Baggies have earned a possible 7 points from 9, and are firm favourites for the top 10 this season. New manager Steve Clarke had spoke about how he aimed to build on last season’s success, and looks well on course to his target.
Striker Shane Long, who has also been in impressive form, thinks otherwise. The player is confident of the club’s chances of success, but says that he does not want to talk prematurely about it and has called for focus and composure from his teammates.
“We’re not getting carried away. We haven’t achieved anything as yet, but we're confident in our ability.”

“The international break means we can relax a bit with seven points under our belts. Obviously it's a great start but we've another 30 or 40 points to get before we're happy.”
“And home points are good because we relied on our away form a bit last year. The manager certainly didn’t need a bad start so it’s pleasing for him."
