Shane Mosley says Manny Pacquiao is not strong but he has pretty good punching power – Boxing news
Shane Mosley, who is a three-division world champion and a former World Boxing Association Welterweight Super Champion, has picked the Filipino star Manny Pacquiao over the Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez, as Mosley believes Pacquiao has pretty good
punching power.
The current World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight World Champion, Marquez, and Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight Champion (Super Champion),
will lock horns in their much-anticipated trilogy bout on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mosley thinks it will be a pretty tough night for the Mexican.
Mosley, who is more commonly known as Sugar, fought Pacquiao back in May 2007 at the same MGM Arena and he lost his battle via unanimous points’ decision. Therefore, Mosley knows how hard Pacquiao hits.
Mosley told Fighthype.com, “Pacquiao has some pretty good punching power. He's not physically strong, but he hits pretty good, like he has a good snap or something. He's got something in his hands where he just, pop, and you can wobble. He can hurt you...I
don't know how he throws his punches, but he does something where when he lands, it has a different impact.”
Mosley, who holds a of winning 46 of his 55 professional fights (1 Draw, 1 no contest), with 39 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, stated he never gets wobbled easily but on the same note he said against Pacquiao it is a different case.
“I mean, I get hit by, even now, I get hit by bigger guys all the time and there's no dazing, I don't wobble, I don't do any of that stuff. With Pacquiao, he just touches you and you're already wobbling,” Mosley added.
The 38-year-old Marquez, who is rated third in the pound-for-pound rankings, has always claimed that he won his last previous two fights against Pacquiao.
Moreover, he has desperately waited three years to avenge his defeat. Therefore, let’s see if Pacquiao, who rules the pound-for-pound rankings, really beats him once again because this fight will decide who the overall winner among them is.
