Shane Warne 95% confident of playing Big Bash opener for Melbourne Stars - Cricket News Update
Former Australian spin wizard, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, has given himself a 95% chance of making the playing eleven for Melbourne Stars in their first Big Bash game of the season against Sydney Thunder, scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
Warne, who accidently burnt his bowling hand while cooking breakfast, released a graphic picture of his bruised hand through his twitter account on Monday.
According to the 42-year-old Aussie, doctors have had a look at his injury and if all goes well he should be fit to play for Melbourne Stars.
“The hand is going along fine, should be fine for Saturday. Basically they just drained all the blisters and then cut them all open so they won't fill up again. There are just a couple of awkward ones on the spinning fingers, but hopefully in four days it should be fine,” he said.
The spinner further added, “Ninety-five percent chance (of playing). I suppose just in case it gets infected because if that happens then I'll be in a bit of trouble."
Meanwhile, Cameron White, who is the captain of Melbourne Stars, is hopeful to see Warne’s participation in their Big Bash opener.
According to White, the injury is not as bad as it looks in the picture, posted by Warne, and insisted that the spinner had assured him that he would be fit before the game.

Warne has come out of retirement, to play the Big Bash tournament after he bid farewell to all formats of the game this year at the end of the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Warne, however, will no longer be participating in the IPL, where he captained the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals.
Meanwhile, Melbourne are hoping to pose a strong challenge against their opponents in the tournament as along with Warne, Pakistan’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 players are expected to add sting to the already formidable Melbourne line-up.
