Shane Warne: It would be hard for BCCI to find Gary Kirsten replacement
Australian spin prodigy, Shane Warne, has said that it will be difficult for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to find a fitting replacement for coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527, who transformed the Men in Blue into World Champions.
"He is a quality person and it would be hard to find a replacement for him. Under him Indian team has reached the number one spot in Tests and won the World Cup. He is a fantastic coach and a quality person”, said Warne while talking to
the media reporters at a gathering for the release of Rajasthan Royals new IPL jersey.
Kirsten joined India’s cricket team in December 2009 and the Men in Blue have gone on to reach the pinnacle of the game after 28 years. Along with their World Cup victory, Dhoni and his Men in Blue became the World’s number 1 Test team under
the South African’s able coaching.
Warne said that anyone who would replace Kirsten would enjoy working with the World Cup winning side. He further added that the new coach would find things a lot easier as the South African has transformed the side into an in-form unit.
Kirsten’s two-year contract with the BCCI was due to end after the ICC World Cup 2011 and the former Proteas opener decided not to extend his contract despite a number of requests from the Indian board and senior players. He politely declined
the wishes of BCCI officials and Indian players citing family commitments.
The fourth edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) is about to begin in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders on the formers home ground.
Shane Warne, who is captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals, is pretty confident that his team will emulate the magic of the opening edition of the IPL when his side went on to lift the trophy.
He said that the current IPL squad of Royals is more or less similar to the set of players they had in the inaugural edition. Warne said that the presence of a few youngsters make it an ideal team with a mix of youth and experience. He further
added that the side has the necessary firepower and would once again surprise the IPL fans.
Experienced England batsman, Paul Collingwood’s availability for the initial few matches of Royals was in doubt as he injured his left knee during the recently concluded World Cup.
But Warne confirmed that the English batsman has been ruled out of the entire tournament and prolific http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 all-rounder, Jacob Oram, would be coming in as his replacement.
