Shane Warne blames BCCI for pitch change
Captain of Rajasthan Royals, Shane Warne, has blamed the decision to change the wicket in Jaipur for their home match against Chennai Super Kings as foul play.
The former Aussies leg-spinner, who is always in the news, because of his tweets on a social media website said; "It's strange for the first time in four years we were told we are to play on end wicket and it was prepared completely differently''.
The previous wicket had been helping Rajasthan greatly to utilize the advantage of home conditions, as they won four consecutive games before Monday’s (May 9, 2011) match.

According to the governing body in India, the decision was made on receiving recommendations from the curator of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, and BCCI’s ground and pitches Committee.
Indian Premier League chairman (IPL), Chirayu Amin, said in a statement; "The BCCI would like to confirm that its Ground and Pitches Committee sent recommendations for ground and pitch preparation to all host associations before the start of the IPL season.
Included in the same was the advice that the pitches should have good pace and consistent bounce".
Amin confirmed that Committee associates have also checked other grounds for IPL matches by visiting there, as they consider suitable suggestions to set the priority to ensure competitive and quality cricket.
Meanwhile, the IPL chairman said that playing teams cannot choose the pitch to play the game, as curator prepares the wicket after consultation with the Ground and Pitches Committee.
Venkat Sundaram, Chairman, Ground and Pitches Committee of the BCCI, said that they always aim to arrange good playing conditions for both teams. They utilize all available option for each venue, as IPL is being played after the domestic cricket and World
Cup, pitches can have wear-and-tear.
Venkat added that it is compulsory to change pitches because of heat, which is prevailing all over the country, as good playing conditions ensure good cricket.
However, Royals captain, Shane Warne was disappointed with the changed pitch, as Super Kings beat them on their home ground by 63 runs.
