Shane Warne can still cause trouble to oppositions, reckons Cameron White – Cricket News Update
Cameron White, captain Melbourne Stars, is of the view that legendary spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672 hasn’t lost his sting and can still cause trouble to opposition batsmen.
Melbourne Stars' Big Bash Twenty20 campaign kicks-off with a match against Sydney Thunders on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at their own backyard.
Both teams are pumped up for the clash; however, Stars' skipper is a bit wary of Thunders' opening batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221. The Sydney vanguards are fearless batters and White thinks that even a guy like Warne can't
control them if they cut loose.
Hoping to expose Thunders' middle-order to Warne, as Gayle and Warner may not fear the bowler as other batsmen do, White said, “I'd imagine probably not for the first two (Warner and Gayle) because that's the type of people they
are but if we can get into the middle order, the younger sort of players, they might be a little hesitant to come up against Warney and that might be the same with a few of the teams.”
Warne suffered some minor http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Burns-c48842 on his bowling hand while making a bacon sandwich on Monday, December 12. The leg-spinner's availability for Saturday’s clash was in serious jeopardy; however, Warne is now fit and will most likely
feature in the game.
Earlier this year, Warne announced that he won’t be playing any format of the game after the conclusion of Indian Premier League's (IPL) season four. However, he had a change of heart and decided to play for Melbourne Stars in
Big Bash.
The 42-year-old leg-spinner hasn’t played a single game for some time and White believes he might be a bit rusty.
Stars skipper said, “He's had a great bowl today and he bowled a few overs the other day out in the middle at Central Reserve. It will be his first competitive bowl for a while so I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little bit rusty
but it wouldn't shock me either if he comes out and rips them and bowls really well.”
After Saturday’s game, Melbourne Stars travel to Brisbane where they will play against Brisbane Heat on Tuesday, December 20.
