Shane Warne claims to be fit for Big Bash – Cricket News Update
Australia’s former vice-captain and legendary leg-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, asserts that he feels quite fit and energetic for playing the upcoming domestic tournament, the Big Bash League T20, turning down Adelaide Strikers Coach, Darren Berry’s claims that
the bowler has turned overage and incompetent.
Warne is going to bowl for Melbourne Stars in the seven group stage games of the league, starting from December 16. His side’s first clash will be against Sydney Thunder on December 17, 2011.
The retired spin master prepaired for this event after hard-pressed demands by the Melbourne managers, BBL Organisers and the home fans, who have not watched their rock-star bowling at home venues since the last four years.
As Berry ironically questioned Warne’s age yesterday, the spin king has laughed this objection off, avowing that he is fully confident of his health and skills yet.
Talking to the media today, the Victoria-born legend said, “It's not even worth responding to 'Chuck' (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Berry-c47842). Good on you 'Chuck’. We'll see how you go against us.”
He further told, “I feel fit and healthy and strong. The shoulder feels ready to go. I'm 78 kilos now. I want to get down to 75. They (Jenny Craig) will be able to help me lose another three."
Since the last three to four months, Warney has been working a lot on his fitness and physique. Acting upon the health and dieting tips of his girlfriend turned fiancé, Elizabeth Hurley, the cricketer has gained a smart and handsome look which some critics
attribute to surgery.
Hurley and Warne, after divorcing their respective spouses, have been in a relation for at least a year. They plan to get married after a few months.
Liz, who loves Warne for his stylish bowling action, will be excited to watch him spinning the ball in the BBL tournament.
Warne last played any domestic game in 2007. In the same year, he bid farewell to international cricket. However, he successfully led http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals in all four editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 42-year-old has 708 Test and 293 ODI wickets in 145 and 194 matches respectively. In spin bowling, the legend is just second to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Muralitharan-c1864.
