http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s legendary spinner, Shane Warne, has applauded the T20 format of the game, saying that it is more tactical and quick, putting captains under pressure and requiring keen attention.
Warne aired these views along with some other important fact about his career and fiancée, Elizabeth Hurley, during an exclusive interview with Fox Sports 3.
The spin king revealed that he considered 20-over cricket as ‘silly and ridiculous’ in the beginning, but got convinced later by analysing the popularity and worth of the format.
Warne was of the view that the shorter version is filled with thrill and throb as everything happens fast in it.
Talking to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Damien-William-Fleming-c52174, Warney said, “It's still cricket. You still have to hit the gap. It all happens so quickly. I think there's a real energy about Twenty20 that's exciting."
The former vice-captain of Team Australia has been playing domestic T20 cricket constantly since his retirement from the International arena in 2007. However, he did not play even a single T20I game.
Warne led http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals in all four editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), and also earned one title for the side. On the spin-friendly Indian pitches, the legend unleashed some of his fabulous bowling spells. However, he announced to quit the league
coupled with all other formats after the 2011 season, as he wanted to take rest and enjoy some happy moments of life with Hurley.
But the legspinner had to reverse his decision on the hard-pressed demands of his national cricket authorities, and plunge into the domestic Big Bash League T20 tournament, starting from next month. Warne’s fans, who were dejected at his retirement, are
now eager to watch him spinning the ball again on Australian soil.
Making his International debut in 1992, Warne ruled over the world of cricket for one and a half decade. The charismatic and spectacular cricketer gained great prestige and fame for himself and for his nation.
The spin master played 145 Test and 194 ODI games till January 2007. He has 58 T20 matches to his credit.
