Shane Warne denies reports linking him with India’s coaching job: Cricket news
Former Australian player Shane Warne has denied reports linking him with the vacant coaching position with the Indian cricket team. Reports in the Indian media suggested that the veteran leg-spinner wanted to replace http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527, who guided the Men-in-Blue
to a historic World Cup victory.
Warne stated on a social networking website, “Just got told on bus - apparently I put my hand up to coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. Wow – first I have heard of it. Sorry to disappoint but never said that!!!”
Earlier, a newspaper in India quoted Warne as saying, “It is a very difficult job to be India coach, it is never easy. But with India doing so well, it is a lot easier to take over right now than it has been in the past. I'll enjoy working with the Indian
cricket team for sure.”
Warne was in the spotlight after he led the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals to the inaugural Indian Premiere League (IPL) title. The veteran cricketer was both coach and captain of the franchise.
India have enjoyed a very good time in all forms of cricket since the appointment of South African coach Kirsten. The Asian giants played consistent cricket overall and took the number one spot from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s)
Test rankings.
Kirsten also helped the team uncover some exceptional young talent like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ravichandran-Ashwin-c84208. However, the former South African opener announced his resignation prior to the ICC World Cup 2011, stating that the Mega Event would be his last
assignment for team India.
Kirsten couldn’t have asked for a better farewell than a World Cup victory and his team didn’t disappoint at all. India defeated arch-rivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the final of the event.
This World Cup was probably the last for Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who featured in six tournaments overall. He didn’t disappoint his team in the Mega Event, as he scored piles of runs at the top of the order. It was also a dream for the veteran batsman
to be a part of the World Cup winning team and he finally managed to realise it.
