Former Australian leg-spinner, Shane Warne is expected to turn out for Melbourne Stars in the upcoming KFC Big Bash League.
After months of speculation, The Age – Australia’s leading newspaper has reported that the spin wizard will be plying his trade with the Stars, who will play their home games at the MCG.
Although no official agreement is made, the 42-year-old likely to be available for all games as the player has no other commitments to adhere to, with the franchise playing their first match against Sydney Thunder on December 17.
His confirmation of playing in the Big Bash League is seen as perfect news for the organizers, who feels that his presence will enable them to attract large crowds. Earlier, the retired Aussie stated that he will definitely play in the tournament with the
main concern underlined was regarding which Melbourne team he will represent.
Stars and Renegades, the two home town teams have been battling for his signatures for a considerable amount of team and now the rumours suggest that Warny has finally made his decision to play for the Stars.
