Melbourne Stars', http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s domestic T20 team, has suffered a setback prior to their opening match of the Big Bash Twenty20 tournament as their strike bowler, Shane Warne, has burned his bowling hand and the team is at risk of
missing him for the clash against Sydney Thunder on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
The spin wizard burned his right-hand while making a bacon sandwich and a result missed the practice match. However, Warne has learned his lesson and the leg-spinner is through being a chef.
Sharing the news as well as the images of his burned hand with his followers at Twitter, Warne said, “Not ideal preparation for practice match today-burning the bowling hand Get better quickly please, any suggestions-HELP. Ps no
more trying to be a master http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Cook-c90355! Stop and buy a bacon roll on the way to the ground next time - silly Shane!”
The 42-year-old cricketer who retired from all forms of international cricket in 2007 is arguably the most successful leg-spinner the game has ever seen. Warne has a prolific record in all forms of the game and has taken 708 Test
wickets at an average of 25.41. Having a player of his calibre in the roster is a great boost for the youngsters in the team.
The skipper of Stars’, Cameron White, was optimistic that Warne would be fit for the opener against Thunders. The leader of Stars’ said, “I saw his hand and I saw the pic on Twitter as well - it's one of those things, it looks
a lot worse than probably what it is, He said to me in the rooms before that he's pretty sure he'll be able to bowl on Wednesday and 100 per cent confident he's going to play on Saturday as well.”
This year Cricket Australia has launched a revamped version of the Big Bash Twenty20 tournament to bring fans towards the game which has been dwindling to some extent. In this year’s event the number of teams has been increased
to eight, while in previous versions it was six. Both Melbourne (Stars’ and Renegades') and Sydney (Sixers and Thunders) have two representatives while the rest of the states have one representative team.
