Shane Watson enjoying the short captaincy stint – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 returns from injury.
It has been a completely different experience for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326. The all-rounder was more involved in the game than he has ever been. Excited about the added responsibility, Watson said, “It has been a very exciting time just for myself, to be honest. Just to be
able to see the game from a different perspective has been a lot of fun. Actually being in there, around the bowlers all the time, communicating with them, is a lot of fun.”
Watson, who has never captained Australia before the Commonwealth Bank series, has had a decent start to his captaincy career. In the CB series, Watto captained Australia on three different occasions and was victorious on two occasions. One of those wins
was against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the third final of the CB series at the Adelaide Oval. The Kangaroos won the match by 16 runs.
The Australian players had little time to celebrate their victory in the CB series, as the team will be leaving for the West Indies on Friday, March 9.
Even with so little time at their disposal, Watson said that the Aussies will party hard. He said, “You have certainly got to enjoy the good times and the wins. We do have a quarter-past-five leave from the hotel in the morning so there could be a few tired
blokes after celebrating. But you do have to make the most of the good days. Playing cricket, and sport in general, you don't always have good days.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 is suffering from hamstring injury and was unable to play in the final match of the CB series. Clarke’s hamstring injury is of serious nature, and the batsman requires a few days of rest to recover completely. For this very reason, he will not be
leaving with the rest of Australian squad and most likely miss the ODI’s against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760. He is expected to be back for the Test matches.
Watson will captain Australia for the ODI series but George Bailey will be captain for the Twenty20 matches.
