http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834, who is considered to be one of the finest all-rounders of the modern
day sport, has decided to give up on bowling, in an effort to prolong his career in international cricket.
Having missed the initial two ODIs against the Caribbean men at Perth, the 31-year-old cricketer returned to the team for the third fixture, announcing his comeback to the global level in a magnificent manner by smashing a century.
The hard-hitting batsman smashed 122 runs off merely 111 balls, which included a dozen boundaries and a couple of massive hits out of the park. He was named as the Player of the Match, having helped the Kangaroos win by 39 runs to seal the series with two
matches still to be played.
While expressing his views after the match, Watson admitted that he was concerned about his preparation for the tour of India but the top-order batsman feels confident after a stunning performance against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 and company.
"I was starting to worry a little bit that I might not have enough form going into the Indian series," he said after the match. "But it's nice to be able to spend some time in the middle today and bat for a longer period of time to feel like I'm back again
a bit. It's nice to be able to feel like you've got it still."
Watson further added that the pitch at Canberra was heavily in favour of the batsmen, making things easy for the opening batter to take the attack to the West Indian bowlers.
"In one-day cricket and Twenty20 cricket, you've got plenty of freedom, on nearly very good batting wickets as well. It certainly makes it a bit easier when the wicket's nice and true," the Aussie vice-captain added.
